3D Designer for scale model trains and accessories

Key Responsibilities:

– Design intricate scale model trains and related accessories (e.g. architecture) using 3D modeling software tailored for 3D printing and laser cutting.
– Collaborate with the product development team to ensure the feasibility of designs and optimize for production.
– Interpret and transform traditional blueprints, designs, and sketches into 3D printable files.
– Ensure all designs meet our high standards for detail, authenticity, and functionality.
– Test print and adjust designs as necessary to achieve optimal results.
– Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in 3D printing and laser cutting.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

– Minimum of 3 years of experience in 3D design with a specific focus on 3D printing and laser cut technology.
– Proficiency in using 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Rhino, or equivalent
– A solid understanding of the requirements and limitations of 3D printing and laser cutting processes.
– Experience in designing intricate models, preferably in the model train industry or related fields.
– Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on precision and authenticity.
– Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work independently.
