Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Laravel Developer to work on our Laravel 9 / Laravel 10 applications. We use Tailwind and Livewire as as the main stack.

You will be working on several applications, and writing code for API integrations, back-end systems, as well as front-end CSS/HTML using Tailwind.

We have a major application that needs to be upgraded from Laravel 9 to Laravel 10 – but we have library dependencies that are stuck with Laravel 9 versions. You need to be able to either resolve this or replace packages with our own versions that are upgradable.

You must have expert level understanding and experience with Laravel and Object Oriented Programming. You must adhere to best practices, be well versed in implementing unit and feature tests, and love solving the challenges that come your way.

The ideal candidate will be a full-stack web developer, however if your expertise is the back-end then we can work with that.

In your response, please link to your CV and any portfolio you might have. Also include your best hourly rate in USD you are looking for. We are a small but growing company, and are committed to paying you extremely well as we grow, but our current budget is limited.

Please also describe your working environment, including your preferred IDE, whether you develop using Windows, Mac, Docker, WSL2, or run Linux natively, etc.

Note:
You must be available for meetings in the core hours of Eastern US time zone from 9 AM to 3 PM
You must be willing to work overtime and weekends if the situation dictates it, e.g. fixing critical bugs, supporting major virtual events by our company or on behalf of clients. You will be compensated appropriately through overtime payment.
You must have good communication and writing skills – fluent English, ability to be understood.
You must have teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude.
You must be experienced with Git and Git Flow.
You must be willing to work with a time recorder and screen monitoring – the time recorded is so we can accurately record time for various projects, and the screen monitoring is so we can help and guide you if you are stuck or going down the wrong path. I have found this incredibly helpful in the past to keep the project moving forward.
