Job Description

We are seeking a talented and versatile individual to join our team as Academic Assistant.

First, a little about the business….

Dr. Peter A. James is a serial entrepreneur who owns and manages multiple businesses related to leadership development, executive coaching, real estate and higher education. It is his goal to build thriving and sustainable businesses in these different areas.

Responsibilities:

Academic Assistance:
-Support academic initiatives related to higher education, ensuring alignment with our commitment to diversity, equity, and leadership development.
-Assist in the creation and editing of academic content, including course materials, presentations, and research papers.
-Grading written papers, discussions, and assignments submitted by students. Providing exceptional feedback, as needed.
-Organize and monitor of the course material administer over blogs and blackboard education software.
-Plan, prepare and implement lesson plans as required.
-Create PowerPoint presentations including illustrative charts and graphs.
-Prepare and proofread correspondence and research publication submissions containing technical terminology, tables, equations, and figures.
-Collaborate with Dr. James regularly to enhance the quality of educational resources.
-Familiarity with business courses and business fields
-Serve as backup LMS administrator.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or a related field.
-2+ years of experience in academic assistance.
-Excellent writing and editing skills.
-Strong understanding of grammar, punctuation, and style.
-Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Knowledge of SEO and social media best practices.
-Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds.
-Firm grasp of APA writing style.
