REPORT TO: SUPERVISOR
We are looking for an Accountant
• manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets for an Australian Real Estate agency
• auditing financial documents and procedures
• reconciling bank statements
• calculating tax payments and returns.
To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.
Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Examining bank statements and reconciling them with general ledger entries
• Examining expenses submitted by employees
• Keeping an eye on incoming payments from accounts receivable and outgoing payments from accounts payable
• Creating company financial reports with the above information included
• Analysing data collected in order to determine the state of the company’s financial health
• Analysing data to understand where the company is generating and losing revenue
• Examining the proficiency of the software programs used to organise data
• Generating financial reports that display the company’s profits, equity and cash flow
You Must Be Proficient In:
• Xero
• Cashflow
• Budgeting
• Xero payroll
• Processing Invoices
• Calculating water bills for owners
• Property Tree – (Real Estate CRM) – daily receipting, allocation of funds, reconcile each day (not essential)
• Rex (Real Estate CRM) (not essential)
• Property management mid month
• EOM
• Reconcile sales trust account and PM trust account
• General accounting duties
Requirements:
• Work experience as an Accountant
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
• Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
