Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time, experienced, and dedicated Company Accountant to join our team. As our newest member, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our operations.

Tasks and Roles
1. General Accountancy
• Maintain FreeAgent accounts, ensuring accurate allocation of income and costs to appropriate accounting categories.
• Perform regular bookkeeping tasks and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards.

2. Tax Compliance
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns. Ensuring VAT compliance and managing VAT records.
• Assisting with tax planning strategies.

3. Systemization and Procedure Development
• Develop and systemize operational processes.
• Write detailed procedures for staff to follow.
• Monitor adherence to these procedures and make clarifications, edits, and updates as necessary.

4. Financial Analytics
• Conduct detailed analytics to identify profitability trends.
• Analyse costs and recommend actions to improve business performance.
• Provide comprehensive financial reports and insights.

5. Pricing Strategy Management
• Monitor prices across various sales channels and adjust as needed.
• Track competitor pricing and develop strategic pricing plans to maximize unit profitability.
• Implement dynamic pricing strategies to enhance revenue management.

Project Goals
1. Clean Up Accounting Software (FreeAgent)
• Resolve and close open transactions
• Organize and categorize financial data correctly
• Remove or archive outdated or irrelevant entries

2. Streamline Accounting Processes:
• Develop and implement efficient accounting workflows
• Establish clear procedures for recording and reconciling transactions
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations

Knowledge & Experience Required
• UK Accountancy Skills: Proficiency in British accounting standards and practices is essential. Understanding of American (USA) accountancy rules is not applicable.
• FreeAgent Proficiency: Experience in using FreeAgent accounting software.
• Industry Experience: Prior experience in the UK tourism industry, especially with platforms like Airbnb and Click to view, is advantageous.
• Advanced MS Excel Skills: Extensive skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and financial management.
• Documentation Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for creating business procedure documentation and reports.

Personal Skills and Approach
• English Proficiency: Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English, with the ability to communicate formally via email.
• Deadline-Oriented: Dedication to meeting project deadlines in a timely manner.
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to understand verbal descriptions of ideas, options, or challenges, and comfortable with some ambiguity at the start of projects.
• Proactive Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to identifying appropriate solutions to challenges and opportunities for improvement.
• Organizational Skills: Efficient organization and maintenance of file systems using OneDrive and DropBox.
• Document Management: Expertise in organizing and maintaining Excel documents, data entry, management reports, cost accounting, and other related tasks.
