About the Role:

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Accountant Assistant to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will be well-versed in handling a full set of accounts, possess in-depth knowledge of Singapore’s accounting and tax regulations, and preferably have experience working in educational settings such as schools or tuition centres.

As an online Accountant Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by managing day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and contributing to financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including but not limited to, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.

Ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks.

Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and prepare timely financial statements.

Administer proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

Coordinate and complete annual audits.

Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.

Develop and maintain financial databases and computer software systems, with proficiency in QuickBooks being a must.
Conduct bank reconciliations and report any discrepancies or issues promptly.

Prepare for and assist with tax audits and tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.

Collaborate with the finance team to enhance financial performance and business decisions.

Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce accurate, timely financial reports or statements.

Provide input into the department’s goal-setting process.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in managing a full set of accounts.
Strong familiarity with Singapore’s accounting and tax regulations.

Experience in the education sector (schools or tuition centres) is highly advantageous.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial software.

Ability to perform bank reconciliations and prepare for financial audits.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional certification in Accounting (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to direct and supervise.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
