Accountant/Bookkeeper Job Description

House of Her is a small and rapidly growing life coaching company based in the UK. We are dedicated to helping individuals achieve their personal and professional goals through our coaching programs. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team.

Position: Accountant/Bookkeeper

Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including recording all financial transactions, expenses, and payments.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper classification of income and expenses.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing clients and managing vendor payments.
Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with tax compliance.
Generate financial statements, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Conduct basic financial analysis, including tracking key financial metrics and identifying trends or areas for improvement.
Collaborate with management to develop budgets and financial forecasts.
Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll tax requirements.
Support year-end financial audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
Stay updated with relevant accounting regulations and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards.

Requirements:

Proven experience as an Accountant/Bookkeeper or similar role.
Proficient in using accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
Solid understanding of UK accounting principles and regulations.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with integrity.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Relevant accounting qualification or degree is preferred.
