We’re looking for an energetic, self-directed Accountant to join our talented team that is working to build an iconic global fashion brand.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
General:
• Prepare bi-weekly cash flow updates.
• Reconcile the books monthly and provide detailed reports every 30 days.
• Prepare quarterly and year-end financial statements and reports.
• Maintain general ledgers and internal databases.
• Maintain accurate AR, AP, Inventory ledgers and assist with collections, payments, and conflict resolutions.
• Maintain historical records by filing documents correctly.
• Process periodic tax remittances (monthly, quarterly, annually).
• Process payroll (once relationship and trust is established).
AR, AP, Inventory
• Reconcile, adjust and maintain balance sheet accounts for monthly AR, AP and Inventory.
• AR – post receipts in a timely, accurate manner and assist with collections on overdue accounts.
• AP – match invoices to purchase orders/packing slips, issue approved payments in a timely accurate manner, resolve issues.
• Inventory – book work-in-progress and finished goods inventory from manufacture
Payroll (once relationship and trust is established)
• Process payroll and employee expenses on a bi-weekly basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Three (3) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Degree / diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Blackbelt skills in Quickbooks desktop / online systems.
• Blackbelt skills in financial accounting or bookkeeping processes.
• Expertise in performing detailed numerical computations and reports.
• Expertise with MS Office Suite especially Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid understanding of wholesale business cycle and accounting cycle.
• Prior experience with ERP and Shopify is an asset.
• Strong ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience working with manufacturing companies, with inventory systems and in multiple currencies is a plus.
