The Role:
The Staff Accountant will be a key member of the team, seeking to work for a growing digital marketing agency. This role provides financial, HR, and administrative support to help drive the growth of Black Compass Digital’s business and its clients. This role will be a partner to the stakeholders by providing quality, transparent and meaningful reporting and strategic planning/bookkeeping to support key business decisions. This is a full time job with the expectations of working 40 hours per week. You are required to work 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST (Eastern Standard Time)
CPAs are only eligible for this role!
Key Responsibilities:
-General Responsibilities
• Maintain and update accounting records
• Bookkeeping and reconciliations, as well as payroll processing
• Conduct month-end and year-end accounting procedures
• Completion of working papers
• Preparation of financial statements
• Tax preparation (T1, T2, T4 and T5 slips) for Personal and Corporate taxes
• Relevant administrative duties (e.g. responding to clients via email and handling invoices).
– VAT remittance and calculations
– Update internal databases (e.g. record sick leave)
– Prepare HR documents, like employment contracts and new hire onboarding
– Revise company policies
– Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates)
– Assist payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days and work schedules)
– Arrange travel accommodations and process expense forms
– Inventory reconciliation
– Coordinate projects & tasks with internal team
– Maintain inventory levels
– Any other adhoc tasks
