Accountant / Head of Finance

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant with a comprehensive understanding of UK regulations, proficient in bookkeeping, skilled in raising capitals, conducting business outreach, and managing tax returns. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial records, compliance with regulatory requirements, and strategic financial planning.

Responsibilities
> Maintain and reconcile financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK regulations. Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
> Stay updated and ensure adherence to UK financial regulations, reporting requirements, and tax laws. Prepare and submit necessary regulatory filings and documentation accurately and promptly.
> Collaborate with stakeholders to identify funding opportunities and develop strategies for raising capital. Assist in the preparation of financial documents and reports required for fundraising activities.
> Engage in business outreach efforts to expand financial opportunities, partnerships, and potential investments. Foster relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, financial institutions, and potential business partners.
> Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with HM Revenue & Customs regulations. Offer advice on tax planning and strategies to optimise tax efficiency while ensuring compliance.
> Create and process invoices in a timely manner.

Qualifications
> Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) is a plus.
> Proven experience of 2+ working as an Accountant with a focus on UK regulations and financial practices.
> Strong proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; familiarity with other financial tools is advantageous.
> Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
> Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective business outreach and stakeholder engagement.
