We’re looking for an enthusiastic, mission-oriented professional to take on the combined role of Accountant & HR Specialist. If you’re a self-motivated individual with a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, human resources, and employee relations, you could be the perfect fit for this pivotal role.
Role: Accountant & HR Specialist
Compensation: $600 USD per Month
Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Location: Remote
Schedule: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Hong Kong/Philippine Standard Time
Availability: You’ll be required to work 40 hours a week, with flexibility in daily workload.
About You:
We’re seeking a proactive professional who can thrive independently and contribute collaboratively to our team. As an ideal candidate, you possess a solid understanding of accounting and HR principles and demonstrate proficiency in financial tasks, recruitment, employee relations, and HR compliance. You will work closely with the Director, as well as the heads of our Gym and Kitchen departments. Experience in the fitness industry is highly desirable and will be a significant asset.
Responsibilities:
As an Accountant and HR Specialist, you will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
Accounting:
Manage Accounts Payable: Ensure timely payment of invoices, manage vendor relationships, and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
Process All Payments: Manage the payment of all payables, including utilities, rent, and other expenses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Cash Flow Management: Assist the Director in managing cash flow to ensure the financial stability of the company.
Financial Reporting: Consolidate monthly financial data to create insightful Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, providing valuable analysis of the company’s financial health and facilitating monthly audits.
Supervise Bookkeeping: Oversee daily bookkeeping tasks performed by our accounting assistant/bookkeeper to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Payroll Compliance: Manage payroll processing, including salaries and Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) contributions, ensuring compliance with Hong Kong regulations.
Tax Coordination: Collaborate with the external CPA for tax preparation and assist the Director in filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.
Human Resources Management:
Manage Full Cycle Recruitment: Coordinate and execute all stages of recruitment, from job postings and screening to interviewing and onboarding new employees.
Ensure Compliance and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate employee records and uphold compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
Manage Leave Policies: Oversee and manage sick leave and personal leave policies, ensuring compliance and fair application.
Handle Employee Relations: Address employee concerns, manage performance evaluations, and oversee disciplinary actions when necessary.
Administer Benefits Programs: Manage employee benefits programs and assist employees with inquiries regarding their benefits packages.
Implement HR Policies: Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures to promote a fair and productive workplace environment.
Utilize HRIS: Efficiently manage the HR Information System (HRIS) to streamline HR processes and maintain precise employee data.
Support Workforce Planning: Collaborate with management on strategic workforce planning and initiatives to foster professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
Proven experience in accounting and human resources management (minimum 2 years in a similar role)
Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software and HRIS software
Familiarity with tracking Facebook ads and online advertising expenses
Knowledge of Hong Kong payroll regulations, including MPF calculations
Keen attention to detail, coupled with exceptional organizational skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to excel in an autonomous, remote work environment

Previous experience in the fitness industry (preferred)
