JOB SUMMARY
A mix of regular accounting and bookkeeping function combined with a dash of process review and documentation plus a healthy dose of reporting to get your creative juices flowing. You make an impact by ensuring accuracy of transaction posting relating to AR, AP and other GL areas. You ensure the company’s balance sheet accounts are completely reconciled on a monthly basis to maintain their integrity.
You gain a deep understanding of the objectives, procedures, and workflows for each key process and propose recommendations to continuously improve their efficiency. Your reports summarize the insights you’ve gleaned from your analysis and help the client make the best decisions based on actionable insights.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monthly customer pre-authorized payment (PAP) submission – update PAP masterlist; prepare submission listing; coordinate with collections team about any updates; coordinate with cash applications team; resolve exceptions; reconcile at month-end
• Weekly payment runs – EFT and ACH payments to vendors – from initiation of payment to posting to GL and reconciliation at month-end
• Cash and cheque clearing entries
• Monthly recurring entries
• Bank reconciliations
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Regular and recurring journal entries
• Monthly sales tax payments and posting
• Workflow review, documentation and improvements
• Participate in weekly team status and priority calls
• Prepare ad hoc reporting requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to problem solve issues
• Intercompany invoicing and recording
• Provide support during internal and external audits
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a similar field
• 2 to 3 years of progressive accounting experience
• CPA designation is a definite plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)
• SAP experience in general ledger (FICO); knowledgeable in other SAP accounting modules (AR, AP, Reporting)
• Experience in process reviews would be an asset
• Experience in financial analysis
• Experience working with international teams
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to communicate professionally and articulate ideas and insights, both in writing and verbally
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Can effectively work with various software tools for productivity and collaboration
