Accountant (Remote) PST Hours

United Independents is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in bookkeeping, possess strong analytical skills, and have a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting. This is a remote position, offering the opportunity to work with a dynamic team dedicated to advancing the Independent political movement.

Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Perform reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support organizational planning and decision-making.
Collaborate with team members to develop and implement efficient financial processes and procedures.
Conduct periodic audits to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors in financial records.
Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Provide support during external audits and tax filings as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
Proven experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and general accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software, preferably in QuickBooks.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
Commitment to accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality in financial operations.
