About us:
We’re an Australian accounting firm looking to expand our “production” team – i.e. team members that can produce tax returns and financial accounts from client information supplied from our office. Our team consists of a range of friendly people from Australia and the Philippines, and we value our team members above all else.
Our clients are mainly small businesses here in Australia, and we perform all types of accounting and tax services. Our clients are in a large range of industries, and you will get to experience a variety of different work.
About the role:
We are looking for someone with experience working not only with Australian accounting firms, but someone who has experience processing and doing tax work of Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF’s).
The role is a full-time role, we would be open to part-time for the right person in the right circumstances.
Non-Negotiables:
1) 3+ years experience working with Australian accounting firms
2) 1+ years experience working with Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs)
Please do not apply if you don’t meet the above. While you may make a great candidate for a general accounting and tax role, we really need someone with SMSF experience at this time. We may have another job opportunity for a general accountant in the new year and would welcome your application at that point in time.
What we can offer:
Competitive salary depending on experience, 60,000 PHP base and up to 90,000 PHP for someone with great SMSF credentials
Work from home
20 days of paid holidays (annual leave) per year
All Australian public holidays provided
Training and career growth
Work from home set-up provided (computer, screens, headset, etc)
Working Hours:
Preferred 9am to 5pm AEST/AEDT (Melbourne, Australia), can be flexible
Start Date:
January
Detailed Summary:
The job will involve the application of Australian taxation rules to support the preparation of Australian tax returns, BAS returns, payroll lodgments, and more – specifically including Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs). You are expected to be able to prepare financial statements and tax returns from various types of source documents, for review by our team leader.
Experience preparing Australian tax returns and SMSFs is necessary for this role. We use BGL360 to process SMSFs, but we don’t require you to have experience with this software in particular – we can train you in software as long as you understand SMSFs and the rules that apply to them.
A large number of our business clients use Xero and QuickBooks Online, with others using excel spreadsheets or simply forwarding across bank statements and invoices. You will be expected to work through this information, work out the most appropriate allocation in the financial statements, and work out the tax outcomes of all items.
SMSFs will generally require you to obtain copies of original documents and match them up with the bank feeds.
Our team will be there to support you and assist with any and all queries you have with any of your jobs, and if there are any knowledge gaps, we are happy to train you in those areas.
We are looking for a friendly person who enjoys keeping in touch with our other team members and is willing to ask for help when needed. Our team is always available to help you, and we hold regular team meetings and have online chat to help everyone work closely together.
If this sounds like your next ideal role, then please apply now.
