We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly analytical Accounting and People Operations Assistant to join our team. The Accounting and People Operations Assistant will be responsible for supporting both People Operations and Accounting by helping the Accountant and Head of People Operations in carrying out their respective functions.
This is a REMOTE opportunity requiring a good internet connection (at least 50MBps), your own workstation, a smartphone with data, and schedule flexibility including the possibility of weekend work when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting:
– Assist with payroll functions including processing and correcting processing errors
– Assist in preparing and filing quarterly and annual tax reports
– Assist in maintaining and managing the recordkeeping of all receipts and verify that receipts are properly invoiced / addressed
– Assist in general ledger maintenance
People Operations:
– Assist in compiling and storing relevant personnel, financial, and administrative data while ensuring integrity, accuracy, and completeness
– Assist in the hiring and onboarding process by helping the People Operations Specialist create and update job descriptions, post job ads, facilitate the talent acquisition and onboarding process, and collect and maintain candidate information
– Assist with planning and execution of staff events such as organization-wide meetings, engagement activities, staff recognition events, and other celebrations.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Psychology, Human Resource Management, or equivalent
– At least 3 years of Accounting, Payroll / Benefits Administration, or Support Services experience
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Impeccable attention to detail
– Excellent analytical and lateral thinking skills
– Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
– Proficient with Google Suite
– Proficient with or has the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar software applications.
