Accounting Manager

Our Accounting department is looking for an experienced and self-motivated Accounting Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a managerial position, demonstrating expertise in accounting, financial reporting, and ability to use multiple systems. This role requires minimal supervision and a high degree of autonomy. The ideal candidate is able to lead our accounting team to success by fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

– Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting
– Lead the integration of new accounting software systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes
– Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy
– Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making
– Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
– Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
– Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors, and ensure timely and accurate completion of audits
– Train, supervise, and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
– Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance accounting operations
– Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
– Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred
– Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a managerial position within the accounting field
– Extensive experience with accounting software systems and a strong ability to integrate new software solutions
– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
– In-depth knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
– High attention to detail and organizational skills
– Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team
– Advanced knowledge using QBO is required

Preferred Skills:

– Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems
– Knowledge of data analysis and financial modeling
– Familiarity with project management principles and software
