Accounting Manager

Position Overview:

Wentwood Capital is a real estate finance investment firm focusing primarily on residential properties across the United States. Led by a founder who previously ran a fund managing $500M+ of assets.

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. Responsibilities including managing finance and accounting functions of the business – reporting directly to the CEO. He/She will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support our business objectives.

Responsibilities:

– Manage books for all entities using Quickbooks
– Reconcile all transactions across entities and investor distributions
– Budget Forecasting and Oversee P&L
– Investor Reporting
– Tax Return Coordination (We use an external accounting firm to complete returns)
– Manage Vendor Payables
– Provide financial models and forecasting
– Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
– Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations, and maintain proper documentation of all financial activities

Qualities A Great Candidate Should Have:

– Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
– A professional qualification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus
– Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills
– 3-5 years of experience as an accounting manager, finance manager, bookkeeper, or related role
– Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and accounting principles
– Proven success in leading accounting teams and implementing process improvements
– Proficient in MS Excel and Quickbooks
– Meticulous and keen eye for details
– Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information
– Able to work independently with self-initiative
– A great work ethic
– Strategic thinker
– Ability to multi-task
