We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager or a Senior Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. Job Description:

As an Accounting Manager at Angel City VA, you will play a crucial role in our finance department. You will be responsible for overseeing and leading a team of bookkeepers while actively participating in various accounting activities. Your ability to effectively manage a team and maintain proficiency in accounting tasks will be key to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of bookkeepers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in their work, providing guidance and support, and fostering a positive work environment.
Hands-On Accounting: Take an active role in performing accounting tasks, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, financial statements, and month-end close.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, analyze variances, and present financial data to senior management.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements, streamlining accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting regulations, standards, and internal policies.
Audits: Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits, providing requested documentation and explanations.
Forecasting: Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing valuable financial insights.
System Integration: Play a role in the implementation and maintenance of accounting software and systems.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Must have hands-on accounting services experience supporting US-based clients.
Proven experience in managing a team of bookkeepers or accounting staff.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
