Part-time Administrative/Legal Assistant for a prominent law firm in Dallas, TX!
We are looking for a skilled paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our General Law Practice. The successful candidate will be able to provide assistance during all phases of the transactional, negotiation and litigation process including depositions, witness preparation, building exhibits, briefs, motions, and investigative records review as needed. Candidate will work very closely with current paralegals in the firm.
Responsibilities:
Conduct initial in-take process and gather detailed information for Attorneys
Communicate with clients, gathering necessary documents and information to begin building a case.
Conduct all initial research and provide information to the Lawyer.
Manage all administrative responsibilities in the legal office.
Draft the first copy of legal documents.
Organize all legal documents in a confidential way.
Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, work with clients
Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
Liaise between trial team and internal/external third parties
Skills:
Proven working experience in Criminal and Civil Litigation as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, procedures, practices, etc.
Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
Extensive computer and legal database software experience (LexisNexis, EFile, Legal Case Management System highly desired)
*Paralegal associates degree or other relevant certification
*Investigative mind and strong research skills
