Advanced Video Editor – Final Cut Pro

Hello advanced level video editors!

I am looking for a highly experienced editor to support with my Australian based video production company Rising Tide Film.

We help marine businesses connect deeply with their audiences through story-driven films. It’s all about life on the water and how the businesses add to the lives of their customers.

This role is primarily to create extremely high quality, narrative films as well as shorter social media edits from the shoots we produce in Australia and America.

I want someone who can come up with ideas and suggestions for the videos so experience doing these types of videos is essential.

To be successful, you need to show me that you can:

-Edit commercial / branding / talking head multi-cam / advertising / Social media cuts to a high quality and professional standard
-Have a strong portfolio of previous commercial work to a high professional quality (Essential)
-Be comfortable using proxy files in Final Cut Pro
-Be comfortable using proxies with different frame rates
-Be comfortable editing in different aspect ratios
-Have the latest version of Final Cut Pro
-Be very comfortable using motion graphics, overlays, transitions, key-framing
-Be comfortable colour correcting and colour grading SLOG-3 and ProRes, along with standard picture profiles including skin tones and using the lumetri scopes
-Be comfortable in creating and using detailed, layered SFX to build the story
-Have excellent communication skills and speak very good English
-Have knowledge or understanding of the boating industry and key terminology (please tell me in the first sentence of your application what a chine is)
-Have a strong understanding of the role that storytelling plays in filmmaking and be able to demonstrate that you can use this to create emotional engagement with the audience
-Understand storyboarding and how to use them to construct a video
-Be available to support on an adhoc basis
-Be ok to complete a paid trial video project as part of the interview process to assess skills and ability to follow the process
-Have worked with remote creators before so are familiar with the workflow

-Creating short social media edits that are fast paced / modern / use more complex effects and transitions to be used on reels and TikTok
-Editing story-driven hero videos and other editing projects that I see fit
