Job Summary:
As an Amazon Vendor Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing relationships with vendors, optimizing product assortment, and driving sales growth on the Amazon platform. You will be responsible for collaborating with vendors to ensure their success by leveraging Amazon’s tools and resources. Your primary goal will be to maximize sales and profitability while enhancing the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Vendor Relationship Management:
– Establish and maintain strong relationships with assigned vendors, acting as the primary point of contact for all Amazon-related matters.
– Collaborate with vendors to develop strategic plans that align with their business goals and Amazon’s objectives.
– Conduct regular business reviews with vendors to analyze performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes.
2. Assortment Planning and Optimization:
– Work closely with vendors to curate and optimize their product assortment on Amazon, ensuring it aligns with customer demand and business objectives.
– Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to identify new product opportunities and recommend assortment expansions or optimizations.
– Monitor inventory levels, identify potential stock-outs or excess inventory situations, and collaborate with vendors to implement effective inventory management strategies.
3. Sales and Performance Analysis:
– Utilize Amazon’s reporting tools and metrics to monitor sales performance, identify growth opportunities, and address any issues affecting sales or profitability.
– Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue, margin, traffic, conversion rates, and customer reviews to drive data-based decision-making.
– Develop and implement action plans to optimize sales performance, including pricing strategies, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
4. Operational Excellence:
– Ensure smooth and efficient operations by coordinating with internal teams such as inventory management, marketing, and customer service.
– Collaborate with vendors to ensure accurate and timely product information, pricing updates, and content optimization on product detail pages.
– Stay up-to-date with Amazon’s policies, programs, and platform changes, providing guidance and training to vendors on best practices and compliance requirements.
5. Vendor Development and Growth:
– Identify opportunities for vendor growth, such as expanding product lines, increasing market share, or entering new sales channels.
– Provide guidance and support to vendors in optimizing their performance on the Amazon platform, including driving product visibility, improving product rankings, and enhancing product listings.
– Foster innovation by exploring new tools, technologies, and initiatives that can benefit vendors and improve overall business performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
– Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
– Proven experience in account management, vendor management, or e-commerce operations.
– Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
– Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and vendors.
– Knowledge of the Amazon platform, marketplace dynamics, and e-commerce trends.
– Proficiency in using Amazon’s Seller Central, Vendor Central, and related tools is highly desirable.
– Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Self-motivated and proactive, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
