Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Architectural Draftsman with a strong understanding of California building codes and the ability to create meticulous floorplans, elevations, cross-sections, and construction details. The ideal candidate will also be adept at assembling comprehensive construction sets that include structural, T-24, MEP, and any other required sheets while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Moreover, this candidate should have a good understanding of how to read and navigate building codes.

Responsibilities:

Create detailed floorplans, elevations, cross-sections, and construction details based on California building code requirements.

Collaborate with architects and project managers to understand project objectives and design specifications.

Review and address city plan check comments and make necessary revisions to drawings.
Ensure that all architectural drawings are compliant with California building codes and regulations.

Assemble comprehensive construction sets that include structural, T-24, MEP, and any other required sheets.

Utilize a good understanding of building codes to navigate and interpret regulatory requirements.

Assist in the preparation of construction documents and permit applications.

Stay up-to-date with changes in California building codes and regulations.

Requirements:

Proven experience as an Architectural Draftsman or similar role.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other architectural drafting software.
In-depth knowledge of California building codes and regulations.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Previous experience in addressing city plan check comments is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field is preferred but not required.
