Work Hours: Full Time, Night Shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EDT)

Job Description:

The Assistant Bookkeeper is responsible for supporting general accounting tasks, including maintaining the general ledger, invoicing, and month-end processing. This role also involves document filing, statement reconciliation, and report generation.

Primary Duties:

• Accurately maintain financial records and perform daily financial entries.
• Record day-to-day financial transactions and manage accounts payable filing.
• Assist in documenting back-end policies and procedures for the finance department.
• Follow instructions and adhere to management direction.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and meet deadlines.

Additional Duties:

• Maintain general ledger accounts.
• Post journal entries in accounting software using ConnectWise.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Review accounts payable batches and monthly reports for validity and completeness.
• Conduct follow-ups, collections, and payment allocations.
• Reconcile customer and vendor accounts.
• Monitor customer accounts for irregularities and non-payments.
• Assist in preparing various invoice types through an automated process in ConnectWise.
• Process employee time and expense reports.
• Maintain customer financial information and status in ConnectWise.
• Help establish customer agreements corresponding to service or project contracts.
• Perform other necessary accounting and administrative tasks.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Computer proficiency.
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
• Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and records.
• Strong data entry skills and a knack for numbers.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write back-office documentation and standard operating procedures.
• High level of confidentiality maintenance.
