CLIENT BACKGROUND
Our client, is the current Xero Accounting Partner of the year in Australia. They are building the next generation of finance teams for Australian businesses looking to grow covering bookkeeping, compliance, CFO and advisory services.

ROLE
Our client is always looking to add members to our fast growing team of dynamic, intelligent and caring people. We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will join our airCompliance team working on accounting and tax compliance and planning across a number of Australian small and medium growing businesses.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Independently prepare financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships
Prepare consolidated financial statements and tax returns, with minimal assistance from the head of compliance.
Independently review annual and monthly payroll tax returns for all states and territories.
Independently prepare activity statements for all tax types.
Independently review year end tax planning estimates for non-complex clients.
Independently review other ATO reports
Ensure high level of accuracy of all airCompliance work items through the ‘Self-Review’ process
Provide simple taxation advice with assistance on topics (Capital gains tax on asset sales, Classification of transactions for GST purposes & income tax deductions)
Monitor and manage client obligations through ATO Online Services.
Independently send and manage detailed client queries via email.
Provide mentoring and training to colleagues including review work and emails prepared.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 4 years of experience in Australian tax with an in-depth understanding of Australian taxation concepts
Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or equivalent (Accounting Major)
Excellent understanding of Xero Tax Software and Xero Practice Manager
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
High attention to detail and problem solving skills
Highly proactive with the ability to research and provide solutions
High analytical and problem solving skills
Strong accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders with strong business acumen
