DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Handle all aspects of tax compliance for companies and trusts, individuals, and sole proprietors. This includes preparing and reviewing tax returns, financial statements, and ensuring compliance with the latest tax regulations.
Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Installment Activity Statements (IAS) to ensure timely reporting and payment of GST and other taxes.
Establish and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication. Answer client inquiries, provide tax advice, and explain complex tax matters in a clear and understandable manner.
Delegate tasks to junior staff members, provide guidance, and review their work to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
Act as a mentor to junior team members, providing training and support to help them grow and develop their skills in tax accounting.
Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, and conduct research to provide accurate and informed tax advice.
Other ad hoc tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, CPA is a PLUS!
4+ years of experience in Australian taxation
Client communication/client facing experience required
Proficient with Xero software
Background in people management is a big advantage
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
