DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supporting the Client Managers in getting work completed.
Assisting less experienced and less qualified team members in completing their tasks and jobs for the greater good of our team
Working closely with the Client Services Manager and Client Managers to ensure our firm-wide deliverables are met.
Training and reviewing the work handed to you by your direct reports.
Training and developing the technical skills of your direct reports helping and teaching them with all aspects of financial statement preparation and taxation return preparation.
Reviewing your teams work, ensuring it for quality and have tasks and jobs done to a 90% to 100% completion stage for the Senior Client Manager
Completing jobs for the Senior Client Manager ready for sign-off and delivery to the client.
Assisting the Client Managers develop strategies in relation to: Strategic client meetings, Client software selection, Business mentoring, Strategic tax planning, and Structuring advice
Helping, supporting and training the Assistant Client Manager with all technical knowledge requirements.
Managing the work of your own portfolio of clients assigned to you.
Preparing financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders
Preparing income tax returns for companies, trusts, and partnerships
Preparing complex individual tax returns (managed funds, ESS, capital gains tax, rental properties, cryptocurrency)
Reconciling balance sheet and profit and loss accounts, making corrections where necessary
Reconciling ATO balance sheet items (i.e., GST, PAYGW, income tax)
Maintaining fixed asset register, including acquisition and disposal of fixed assets
Identifying taxation issues such as Division 7A and FBT
Preparing monthly/quarterly business and instalment activity statements (BAS/IAS), identifying and correcting GST and payroll discrepancies
Preparing fuel tax credits calculations to be included as part of the business activity statement
Preparing and lodging basic monthly state payroll tax for various jurisdictions
Preparing and lodging basic annual state payroll tax reconciliations for various jurisdictions
Preparing year-end tax planning files for companies, trusts, and partnerships
Preparing FBT calculations and FBT Returns
Provide mentoring and training to Accountants, with assistance from the Client Managers
Reviewing and overseeing work prepared by Accountants to detect discrepancies and ensure deadlines are met
Working alongside the client services team and client managers to support clients with queries
Collaborating with our bookkeeping team to ensure the files provided to the compliance team enhances and streamlines our processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of Accountancy or related field (CPA/CA is an advantage)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Australian tax – preparing Financial Statements, Tax Returns, and BAS/IAS for Australian companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals and SMSFs
Proficiency in handling basic and complex Australian tax concepts (e.g., Div7A, FBT, Tax Planning)
Excellent understanding of Xero, Xero Tax Software and Xero Practice Manager, BGL360, MYOB and QuickBooks
Experience in ChangeGPS, AccountKit, Karbon will be beneficial.
Strong supervisory skills and the ability to manage workflows
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High attention to detail and solid problem solving ability
Highly proactive with the ability to research and provide solutions
High analytical and curious
Strong accuracy in your produced results
Ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders with strong business acumen
Excellent organisation and time management skills
