Job Description

Position Title: Offshore Australian Accountant

Location: Remote

Reports To: CEO

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Offshore Australian Accountant to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of Australian tax laws and regulations, particularly in the areas of Business Activity Statement (BAS) preparation, individual tax returns, cash flow management, and Division 7A loans. The candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely accounting services to our Australian clients, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

BAS Preparation:
Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) accurately and timely.
Ensure compliance with Australian GST regulations.
Review and reconcile GST accounts.

Individual Tax Returns:
Prepare and lodge individual tax returns for Australian clients.
Advise clients on tax deductions and credits.
Ensure compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations.

Cash Flow Management:
Monitor and manage clients’ cash flow.
Prepare cash flow statements and forecasts.
Provide advice on improving cash flow.

Division 7A Loans:
Manage and advise on Division 7A loans.
Ensure compliance with Division 7A regulations.
Prepare loan agreements and documentation.

General Accounting Duties:
Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
Prepare financial statements and reports.
Assist with budgeting and financial planning.
Client Communication:

Communicate effectively with clients to understand their accounting needs.
Provide clear and concise advice and explanations.
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Compliance and Regulations:

Stay up-to-date with changes in Australian tax laws and regulations.
Ensure all accounting practices comply with current laws and regulations.
Assist with audits and regulatory reporting.
Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or CA qualification (mandatory).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Australian accounting and taxation.
Strong knowledge of BAS preparation, individual tax returns, cash flow management, and Division 7A loans.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
