POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for preparation of financial statements and performing Australian tax bookkeeping with minimal supervision. You are an experienced accountant to lead and manage multiple operations of our firm and to deliver quality accounting and bookkeeping services, that will increase firm’s reputation. You will serve as an accountant to our clients aiming at maximising engagement and achieving qualitative outcomes. This position also provides work direction and technical guidance to team leaders and accountants.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deal with customer enquiries and provide additional services as required
• Ensure clients consistently receive service excellence in line with our service standards
• Develop an in-depth knowledge of all clients’ financial situations
• Achieve agreed targets (KPI’s)
• Prepare Financial Statements
• Prepare Australian tax calculations, payroll and Single Touch Payroll reporting
• Liaise with the tax authorities on client matters
• Business entity setup and registration
• Prepare tax registrations and applications as required
• Update Firm Registers as required
• Complete timesheet daily
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings
• Participate in external and internal training as required
• Maintain current and accurate files and record and date any actions and detailed file notes
• Use available resources to seek answers to technical questions prior to consulting manager

POSITION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Experience in the preparation of Financial Statements and Australian Tax Returns
• Excellent knowledge of Australian taxation legislation
• Skills for communicating those concepts
• Excellent use of Word, Excel and Outlook
• Knowledge of using XERO Practice Manager, XERO Accounting & Tax

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• XERO certification
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
• two or more years of tax experience with accounting industry

POSITION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Experience in the preparation of Australian Bookkeeping, GST and Profit calculation
• Excellent knowledge of taxation legislation
• Skills for communicating those concepts
• Excellent use of Word, Excel and Outlook
• XERO certified adviser
