About the role
• Full-time position working from home starting at 9 am AEDT/AEST (Melbourne time)
• Senior position requiring extensive experience in Australian bookkeeping using Xero across a wide range of industries and clients
• Reports to the Senior Client Manager but works closely with the Senior Production Manager, both based in Australia
• Assist in cleaning up the books of new clients with bookkeeping issues and streamline processes with the help of your manager
• Be responsible for clients assigned to you and complete any work needed to meet deadlines
• Keep client manuals up to date with instructions so your colleagues can complete work on your clients when you are on leave
• Work on clients in a relief capacity when colleagues are on leave
• Review work of newer and more junior team members
• Complete difficult work beyond the technical capacity of your more junior team members
• Train and mentor junior and intermediate team members

Skills, experience and equipment requirements
• Knowledge of Xero is essential
• Accounting qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of mentored experience in Australian bookkeeping in a multi-client environment (bookkeeping or accounting practice)
• Knowledge of business compliance and BAS preparation including reconciling GST
• Ability to review profit and loss and balance sheet accounts and find errors
• Ability to process complex payroll
• Ability to clean up messy bookkeeping files
• Ability to integrate and troubleshoot software integration settings
• PC with two monitors plus a quality headset
