Job Description

Job Summary: A Sales Representative in the shipment business is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, as well as nurturing and expanding existing client relationships. This role involves promoting the company’s shipping services, meeting sales targets, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
Prospecting and Lead Generation:
* Identify and research potential clients within the target market.
* Generate leads through various methods, such as cold calling, networking, referrals, and online research.
Sales Presentations:
* Conduct product or service presentations to potential clients.
* Highlight the benefits and features of the company’s shipping services.
Customer Relationship Management:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business.
* Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Quoting and Pricing:
* Provide accurate and competitive price quotes to potential clients.
* Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts to close deals.
Market Analysis:
* Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors.
* Use market insights to develop sales strategies and identify opportunities for growth.
Sales Targets:
* Set and meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
* Develop and implement action plans to achieve sales goals.
Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and transactions.
* Prepare regular sales reports for management.
Collaboration:
* Work closely with other departments, such as operations and customer service, to ensure smooth execution of shipments and customer satisfaction.
Customer Education:
* Educate clients on the company’s shipping processes, regulations, and any relevant industry-specific information.
Problem Solving:
* Resolve client issues and complaints in a timely and effective manner.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in sales, preferably in the shipment or logistics industry.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of shipment and logistics processes and regulations.
* Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
* Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events, as needed.
