Job Description

Drafting-Specific Tasks
• Prepare CAD drawings for various projects and disciplines under the guidance of the project engineer and project manager.
• Sheet drawings for printing, ensuring neatness and consistency in annotation scaling and alignment.
• Ensure that all title blocks and coversheets are neatly prepared and are complete with accurate project and client related information.
• Ensure all annotations are clear and neatly presented on all plans and details.
• Ensure proper spelling and grammar for all annotations.
• Ensure drawings are prepared using the correct layers, line-types and scales.
*It is reasonably expected that the technician will review any drawing or details copied from other project files to ensure conformance to the above requirements as performance is assessed based on works presented, regardless of sources.
Administrative Tasks
• Review project input files and documentation and populate project RFI/Issues list(s) based on said reviews.
• Populate projects planner(s) with relevant sub-tasks and timelines for assigned project(s), ensuring planner is updated daily with the progress status of each task(s).
• Ensure all project files are properly labelled and filed in-keeping with the company’s file management policies.
• Ensure updated files are posted daily to the relevant folders on the project Team and notifications/links posted to the project Channel(s).
• Ensure updates are posted to the project Channel(s) by 11:59pm daily, outlining progress of tasks, challenges being faced that will impact deliverable timelines or quality and any additional information/resource(s) required.
• Attend project meetings and provide verbal updates, insights, etc that adds value to project team.
*It is reasonably expected that you perform all project-related and administrative tasks to the standards of the company. In the event that any task(s) cannot be performed to the required standard, this must be expressed to the project manager, outlining the reasons for sub-par works or preemptively requesting additional resources, training or time to ensure the expected standards are achieved.
