Job Overview:

We’re on the lookout for a talented and driven Backend Developer, with experience in low code platforms like Retool, to join our global remote team. This role involves the development and maintenance of robust backend systems, API integrations, and the creation of internal applications connecting to various databases and APIs. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in SQL, especially PostgreSQL databases, and experience with REST and GraphQL APIs.

Responsibilities:

– Develop and maintain scalable, secure backend databases with an emphasis on PostgreSQL.
– Integrate with REST APIs and GraphQL services, enhancing application functionalities, with a particular focus on e-commerce platforms such as Shopify.
– Utilize JavaScript and Retool to develop internal applications
– Work closely with cross-functional teams to comprehend project requirements and deliver solutions that align with business objectives.
– Adhere to best software development practices and data security protocols to ensure the integrity and performance of applications.
– Remain abreast of the latest backend development technologies and trends, exploring new tools and practices that could benefit the company.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

– Strong proficiency in SQL and extensive experience with PostgreSQL databases.
– Strong experience in using REST and GraphQL APIs, showcasing an ability to seamlessly connect and manage data between various systems and platforms.
– High proficiency in JavaScript, capable of creating dynamic user interfaces and integrating with various APIs and services.
– Experience with Retool or similar low-code platforms for developing internal applications, demonstrating a capacity for rapid development and deployment.
– Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a remote, international team.
– A problem-solving mindset, excellent attention to detail, and the capability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Some additional desirable experience includes:

– Experience working in e-commerce and/or direct-to-consumer companies.
– Experience with Shopify and e-commerce tech stacks

Benefits:

– Competitive salary package starting at PHP 95,000 per month, with the potential of up to PHP 145,000 per month based on experience and ability.

Job is offered as an independent contractor position. All compensation is based on hours worked. The contractor is not considered an employee of the company, and as such is not entitled to any benefits, including pension, retirement, transportation, profit sharing, paid time off, or other benefits specific to company employees.
