Backend Engineer (Java)

Location of Work:
Ayala North Exchange Tower 2, Intersection of Ayala Avenue and Salcedo St., Makati City
Hybrid schedule: 2 days on-site and 3 days remote.
Total weekly hours: 40 hours.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to fulfill the role of a Backend Developer. In this position, you will be responsible for crafting and maintaining top-tier code, ensuring its sustainability, scalability, and efficiency. Your active involvement in the establishment and execution of coding, testing, and deployment best practices will be paramount.
Collaboration will be a key aspect of your role, as you will work closely with diverse cross-functional teams, including product managers and frontend engineers. Together, you will conceptualize and create robust and scalable backend systems that drive our products’ success.
Additionally, you will contribute to the creation of comprehensive technical documentation, encompassing API references and system architecture visualizations. Your participation in code reviews will be pivotal, as you provide constructive insights to uphold coding, testing, and deployment standards. Moreover, you will actively engage in the testing and deployment of backend systems, ensuring alignment with requirements while maintaining efficiency and scalability.
Your dedication to continuous growth will be valued, as you invest in self-study, attend industry conferences, and partake in relevant training programs to refine and expand your skill set.
Requirements:
– A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
– Proficiency in Server Side Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST, Maven, Github, and other prominent open source Java Libraries.
– Demonstrable experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, caching technologies, and message brokers.
– Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
– A strong grasp of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
