Job Description

We are currently seeking a Bid Acquisition Specialist to join our team. As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for reviewing the bid board, reaching out to potential suppliers and vendors, and managing the process of obtaining competitive quotes. Your main objective will be to secure 80-100 competitive pricing quotes weekly, enabling us to submit competitive bids for various projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying potential contracts that can contribute to the growth of our business. We are looking for someone proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review Bid Board:
– Regularly monitor the bid board and identify suitable opportunities.
– Analyze bid requirements, specifications, and deadlines for each project.

2. Contact Suppliers and Vendors:
– Initiate outbound calls and emails to potential suppliers and vendors.
– Communicate bid requirements and deadlines to them.
– Build strong relationships with suppliers to secure competitive quotes.

3. Request Competitive Quotes:
– Gather detailed quotes from suppliers based on the bid requirements.
– Ensure all quotes are submitted on time and meet the required specifications.
– Negotiate pricing and terms when necessary to secure the most competitive offers.

4. System Development:
– Develop and maintain an efficient system for tracking bid opportunities, contacts, and quotes.
– Utilize software and tools to streamline the bidding process and increase efficiency.
– Continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency of the bid acquisition process.

5. Identify Growth Opportunities:
– Research potential contracts and projects that align with our business objectives.
– Work with the business development team to assess and prioritize growth opportunities.
– Prepare reports and recommendations for pursuing strategic contracts.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field (preferred).
– Proven experience in procurement, bid management, or a related role.
– Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
– Strong organizational and time management abilities.
– Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for bid management.
– Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
– Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
