Job Description: TLS Board Administrator and Content Manager
We seek a skilled and proactive Board Administrator and Content Manager to join our team. As the Board Administrator, you will manage and coordinate various tasks related to board administration, community engagement, content management, and website development. Your primary goal will be to ensure the smooth operation of our online platform and provide a positive user experience for our community members.
Those interested and experienced in Law or actively in law school are highly considered.
Responsibilities:
1. Moderator Recruitment and Engagement
Actively recruit and engage moderators for the discussion boards, ensuring an appropriate balance of moderators to monitor and guide discussions effectively.
Maintain a database of potential moderators and reach out to them through various channels, such as newsletters, emails, and forums.
Foster a positive relationship with moderators, appreciating their contributions and seeking their advice to improve the platform.
2 Badge Management and Development
Monitor and maintain the functionality of badges on the platform, ensuring they accurately reflect users’ achievements and activities.
? Explore innovative ideas to enhance the badge system and provide additional incentives for user engagement.
3. Content Moderation and Spam Prevention
Regularly review user-generated content to ensure it aligns with the platform’s guidelines and policies.
Take necessary actions, such as banning individuals who engage in spamming activities or violate community rules.
Proactively search for and address instances of spam related to LSAT and Bar Prep and employment forums with recruiter spam.
4. Wiki Management
Develop a plan to improve the platform’s wikis, including addressing user requests for edits and adding relevant links.
Coordinate with the BCG team to establish a dedicated email for wiki-related inquiries.
Collaborate with Career Services Offices at various law schools to ensure accurate and up-to-date information on the platform.
5. Outdated Content Management
Conduct regular research and audits to identify outdated content on the platform.
Update or remove outdated content to ensure the platform provides accurate and relevant information.
6. Social Media and External Engagement
Explore strategies to promote the platform and engage with the law student community on various forums, including Reddit and other relevant platforms.
Share popular discussions from Reddit on the platform to encourage user participation and foster a sense of community.
7. Market Monitoring and Newsletter Creation
Set up Google Alerts to stay updated on various topics related to law school admissions, legal job market, salaries, rankings, etc.
Curate engaging and informative content for the daily newsletter, including user recaps, deadlines, events, job opportunities, industry news, and Q&A segments.
Incorporate social media links and ensure seamless integration with other communication channels.
8. Website Development and Long-Term Goals
Collaborate with the designated team to plan and execute a site redesign, focusing on enhancing user experience and functionality.
Develop surveys to gather insights on salary trends, associate satisfaction, and other relevant topics.
Assist in redesigning the job board and exploring the development of a mobile application to expand the platform’s reach.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in community management, content moderation, or similar roles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Familiarity with online discussion platforms, social media, and website management.
Passion for the legal industry and understanding of law school admissions and career progression is desirable.
