Job Description

Hi There

Are you a creative individual who enjoys crafting unique angles to create impressive book covers? Do you relish the challenge of brainstorming visual concepts? If this sounds like you and you prefer working from home without remote calls or time tracking, take a look at what we have available.

Hi there! My name is Andrea and I am based in the UK. I have a great passion for books and enjoy creating stories that can provide hours of entertainment for our audience. Although I started producing books as a hobby years ago, I have since teamed up with a Filipino assistant who has been a great help in managing my business.

I am grateful for her honesty, professionalism, and hard work, as well as the positive experiences I have had working with other Filipinos in the past while building other businesses.

As my business continues to grow, I am now looking for a new part-time team member to join us and help take our success to new heights. The focus with be on book cover production and (if all goes well) potential interiors as well.

Work-Life Balance
This job is completely flexible and can be done from anywhere, including the comfort of your own home in the Philippines. If you’re a mother who needs to take a 2-3 hour break during the day to care for your children, that’s perfectly fine.

You can work around your schedule as you see fit, as long as you deliver quality work within the agreed-upon timeframe. I prioritize the quality of your work over the amount of time you spend on it. When filling out the Google form at the end of this job posting, please indicate that your favorite color is blue.
Are You a Suitable Candidate?
You need two skills

1. Ability to draw and use professional software like Photoshop or comparable (e.g., Affinity Designer)

2. Be willing to deliver good quality covers. Check here for an example of the cover quality we are looking for

This job is for you if:

• If you are willing to learn new topics
• You gain satisfaction in becoming every day more knowledgeable
• You love observing the work of others a making a better version of it
• You love dwelling on details

This is NOT the job for you if:

You are a great illustrator but cannot follow any guidance
You believe you can deliver a good cover in 10 minutes
You do not like details
You do not like feedback and guidance
You are used to spinning covers (zero tolerance to copy the artwork of others)
You are planning to leave after 1-2 months (do not waste my time as I would not like to waste yours)

Your Weekly Routine
Every month we produce 2 to 5 books. So, in general, you will not have more than one cover a week (sometimes less, but at the moment not more).

The work will be organized as follows

You will receive a title and potentially a draft interior
You will check what the market is offering at the moment () and create a cover that is more enticing than what exists at the moment based on the common features of the most-selling covers
We might have a few feedback rounds if necessary
Deliver the results in an AI file
Future work (and higher pay) will come over time if the artist shows commitment and ability to deliver.

What’s the Salary/Work Time?
As a part-time worker, you will be limited to completing up to four book covers per month during the initial few months. This is due to the fact that crafting a book interior to meet our high standards requires considerable time and effort.

Our payment structure is based on the final results, not on the hours spent working. Each book cover is compensated individually, with some covers taking two to three hours to complete while others may require more time. If you encounter a particularly challenging or difficult cover, don’t hesitate to bring it up for discussion. We do not monitor your working hours, only the quality of your work.

I am looking for someone to create 3-4 covers per month for puzzle games. The work time is flexible, requiring only 5 to 10 hours a week, and can be done at any time that suits you. Location is not a concern, but please use your own personal computer and not a phone, tablet, or rented device.

The pay for each cover is $40 and will be paid weekly. If the artist performs well, there may be opportunities to work on covers for other topics or even interior for a higher pay. Communication will be through email and Trello, and I expect replies within 24 hours during weekdays. There is no need for meetings.

What’s Next?
If you’re interested, please fill out the Google form provided below to apply. After exchanging emails, selected candidates will undergo a paid test.

The cost for this test is a flat rate of $10 USD, which may seem low, but it allows me to test a larger pool of candidates while still keeping my costs manageable. Please note that I do not offer free tests as I value your time, and I hope you value mine.

The paid test is an authentic representation of the work you’ll be doing if you choose to work with me. It will give you a clear understanding of what to expect, and you can make an informed decision about whether or not to apply.

I apologize in advance if I don’t get back to you. I usually receive 100+ applications per job post, so I can only get back to writers who I think might be a good match. I hope to get back to you within a few days of submitting your application.

If it doesn’t work out, thank you for taking the time to apply, and I wish you the best of luck with your job search.

Best regards,
Dr. Andrea B
