Book Structural Editor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Book Structural Editor to join our publishing team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of story structure, and excellent communication skills. The Book Structural Editor will be responsible for collaborating with authors to develop and refine the structure, organization, and flow of their manuscripts. This role requires a passion for storytelling, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced publishing environment.

============Responsibilities==============================
* Collaborate with authors to develop and refine the overall structure and organization of manuscripts.
* Provide constructive feedback on plot, character development, pacing, and other elements of storytelling.
* Conduct comprehensive manuscript assessments to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
* Work closely with authors to revise and strengthen manuscripts, ensuring consistency and coherence.
* Communicate effectively with authors, providing clear and actionable feedback in a supportive and professional manner.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in storytelling and structural editing.
* Work collaboratively with other members of the publishing team, including copy editors, designers, and marketers, to
ensure the successful publication of high-quality books.

* Manuscript Turnaround Time: Ensure timely review and feedback on manuscripts to meet publishing deadlines.
* Manuscript Quality: Measure the overall improvement in manuscript quality based on feedback from authors and editorial
team.
* Author Satisfaction: Evaluate author satisfaction through feedback surveys or reviews on the editorial process and
collaboration experience.

* Experience as a structural editor or developmental editor in the publishing industry.
* Strong understanding of story structure, narrative techniques, and genre conventions.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to authors in a supportive and professional manner.
* Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Proficiency in AI software and tools (e.g., chatGPT, Claude etc.).
* Passion for literature and a commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive storytelling.
