Job Description

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced bookkeeper to support the business in all aspects of accounting, from accounts payable to payroll, management accounting and VAT returns. The perfect candidate will be able to support the CEO with P&L reports and help identify profitable and losing sides to the businesses.

Experience with Excel and Dashboards, such as Looker Studio and Tableau, would be a big bonus.

This is a part-time role across 2 businesses (A Marketing agency and an E-commerce/Amazon Business). A full-time role will be considered if the candidate has experience in other areas needed by either business. This should be presented with their CV.

Role & Responsibilities

Must have experience with UK Payroll and UK VAT Filing.
Customising reports using Xero and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets. Presenting the reports to the executive team and reviewing each and every transaction, including subscriptions.
Execute the month-end close process producing accurate and timely financial statements.
Correct data entries via Xero and articulate reasoning behind categorisation.
Communicate and coordinate with Company’s CPA to execute strategies presented and file taxes before the deadline and/or file for extensions.
Summarise payables (credit cards, banking, net terms, etc.), strategically plan payments and organise the data.
Making reports with our daily profit and loss with information pulled from various sources.
Preparing monthly financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising account information and trends.
Update and maintain accounting software.
Maintains historical records by digitally filing documents.
Reconciling daily.
Invoicing
Creating dashboards identifying P&L and other key metrics across the business.

Required Skills

At least 1-year experience in bookkeeping or accounting work
Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Experience with utilising Xero
Ability to create forecasts and projections of sales
Ability to investigate things and navigate through transactions – reconciling data
VAT filing and knowledge (UK VAT)
Ability to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organisational skills
Attention to detail and accuracy when completing accounts
Experience using LinkMyBooks or similar would be a Bonus.
