Bookkeeper Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled bookkeeper who is capable of building an accounting system from scratch. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and be proficient in the following areas:
1. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in managing the accounting needs of a used car dealership, including but not limited to:
• Maintaining records of vehicle purchases and sales
• Tracking expenses and revenue related to the dealership’s operations.
• Managing financial transactions and reconciling accounts
2. Proficiency in inventory management, specifically related to the automotive industry. This includes:
• Tracking inventory levels, including vehicle stock and parts
• Conducting regular audits to ensure accurate inventory counts.
• Managing the purchasing and ordering process for dealership inventory
3. Expertise in managing the financial aspects of a car rental company, encompassing:
• Maintaining rental records and agreements
• Tracking rental revenues and expenses
• Managing the billing and invoicing process for rental customers
4. Extensive experience with QuickBooks, as our current system is based on QuickBooks Online. The candidate should be well-versed in utilizing QuickBooks to:
• Build and customize the accounting system to meet the specific needs of our business.
• Develop and maintain an efficient payroll system, including regular payroll processing for employees using QuickBooks Online
5. Familiarity with sales tax processing requirements, both periodic and recurring, integrated within QuickBooks Online. The candidate should be capable of:
• Ensuring accurate sales tax calculations and timely filing of tax returns
• Maintaining compliance with sales tax regulations and guidelines
6. Desirable experience in handling yearly tax filings in the USA. The candidate should possess knowledge of:
• US tax laws and regulations related to businesses.
• Collaborating with external tax professionals to prepare and file annual tax returns.
The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are also crucial for interacting with team members and external stakeholders.
