Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our Finance and Accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial processes, excellent mathematical skills, and proficiency in various accounting software. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing transactions, and supporting the overall financial health of the company.

Responsibilities:
1. Financial Data Entry: Accurately record financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, payments, and expenses, into the company’s accounting system.
2. Accounts Receivable and Payable: Monitor and manage accounts receivable and payable. Generate invoices, process payments, and ensure timely collections and payments to vendors and clients.
3. Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements with company records to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
4. Expense Tracking: Categorize and track business expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant tax regulations.
5. General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger by accurately posting journal entries and adjustments as needed.
6. Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the company’s financial performance.
7. Financial Analysis: Collaborate with the finance team to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improving financial efficiency and performance.
8. Tax Preparation: Compile and organize financial data for tax purposes, collaborating with external accountants to ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
9. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, both in physical and digital formats, for auditing and compliance purposes.
10. Communication: Liaise with other departments and external stakeholders to resolve any financial discrepancies, answer queries, and provide relevant financial information as needed.
11. Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes, contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance team.

Qualifications:
– A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
– Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role.
– Strong proficiency in Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel.
– Excellent numerical and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
– Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax codes.
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
– Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
– Knowledge of basic financial analysis and reporting.
– Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
