Job Title: Bookkeeper/Compliance Manager
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual to fill the position of Bookkeeper/Compliance Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
Record day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
Reconcile bank statements and other financial statements regularly.
Financial Reporting:
Generate and analyze financial reports to provide insights into the company’s financial performance.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external reporting.
Compliance Management:
Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting the organization.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, reporting requirements, and financial industry standards.
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure accuracy.
Audit Coordination:
Coordinate and assist in the preparation of internal and external audits.
Work closely with auditors to provide necessary documentation and address audit inquiries.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets.
Collaborate with management to create accurate financial forecasts and projections.
Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with vendors and ensure timely payments.
Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to optimize cost-effectiveness.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in financial and compliance-related workflows.
Implement changes to enhance accuracy, reduce risks, and streamline financial processes.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Familiarity with relevant compliance regulations and standards.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Knowledge of industry-specific compliance requirements is a plus.
