We are currently seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting various administrative tasks. Proficiency in Xero accounting software is essential for this position. You will be responsible for tasks such as payroll, accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, bill processing, bank reconciliation, and email management.

Responsibilities:

Perform payroll processing tasks, including calculating wages, deductions, and benefits, and ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
Manage accounts payable/receivable, including recording invoices, processing payments, and following up on outstanding payments.
Prepare and send invoices to clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to billing terms.
Handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using Xero, including data entry, reconciling bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial transactions.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including generating financial reports and reconciling accounts.
Maintain organized financial records and documentation, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Support administrative tasks such as email management, scheduling, and general office assistance as required.
Collaborate with the finance team to provide accurate and up-to-date financial information as needed.
Assist with financial analysis and reporting tasks as assigned.
Stay updated with accounting best practices, software updates, and industry trends.

Task
Month end GL journals e.g. accruals, prepayments etc
Month end GL reconciliations (but someone who will be able to sort out incorrect entries, not just list reconciling items)
Annual GL reconciliations (pretty much is equal to monthly reconciliations, but with more vigour)
Payroll processing
Where time may permit other ad hoc tasks (particularly within the Financial Accounting space).
We have 6 Xero entities to reconcile (not all high in volume), but ideally I would like these all reconciled monthly in their entirety.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role.
Proficiency in using Xero accounting software is essential.
Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
Experience with payroll processing and knowledge of relevant payroll laws and regulations.
Strong knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes.
Familiarity with invoicing, billing, and financial statement preparation.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and integrity.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
