Join our dynamic team as a Bookkeeper to Accounting Services and provide comprehensive support to both our clients and internal team. This role entails focusing on bookkeeping on a weekly basis, ensuring up-to-date accounts for clients at all times, and addressing client queries promptly and efficiently. Responsibilities:
– Weekly bookkeeping and bank reconciliations for client groups
– Processing payroll for clients and sending client payment instructions regularly
– Contacting clients with weekly bookkeeping queries and keeping records up to date
– Processing periodical superannuation guarantee amounts using Xero and ATO platform
– Manage Hub Doc/Dext – Receipt bank reconciliation with Xero records on weekly basis
– Prepare Month end reports for Principal Accountant
– Timely Account Receivables and Payables reconciliation
– Preparation of payroll tax returns for various states
– Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS’s) and Installment Activity Statements (IAS’s) along with detailed work papers
– Prepare Financial Statements, including Depreciation Schedules
– Prepare FBT calculations and provide salary packaging information
– Prepare invoices for clients and ensure all work is accurately billed
– Participate in external and internal training as required
– Ongoing referral of financial planning, loan and insurance leads to other teams within the Aureus Group
– Ensure that all work is error-free, professionally presented and complies with Financial’s procedures and systems
– Maintain current and accurate files and record and date any actions and detailed file notes
– Recording accurate timesheet entries for all tasks
– Other ad hoc duties as requested
Skills & Qualifications
– Proficiency in Bookkeeping Software: Extensive experience with Xero and Hub Doc / Dext for maintaining and reconciling financial records
– Payroll Processing: Ability to process payroll accurately and efficiently, including preparation of payroll tax returns for various states
– Bank Reconciliation: Expertise in performing weekly bank reconciliations
– Tax Compliance: Knowledge of preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS), Installment Activity Statements (IAS), and managing superannuation guarantees using the ATO platform
– Financial Reporting: Skills in preparing month-end reports, financial statements, including depreciation schedules, and detailed work papers
– Accounts Management: Experience in timely reconciliation of accounts receivables and payables
Role Requirements
– Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Commerce
– Xero experience (Necessary)
– Quickbooks experience
– Dext Receipt Bank (highly regarded)
– Australian Tax experience (highly regarded)
– Extensive experience as a bookkeeper
