Job Summary:
A bookkeeper plays a vital role in ensuring the financial stability and integrity of an organization by maintaining accurate and organized financial records. They are responsible for recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports, and proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Record Financial Transactions: Enter financial transactions, including sales, purchases, income, and expenses, into the accounting system, with a strong emphasis on using QuickBooks Online.

Reconcile Accounts: Regularly reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies, utilizing QuickBooks Online features.

Maintain General Ledger: Update and maintain the general ledger within QuickBooks Online to ensure that all financial data is accurately recorded and categorized.

Accounts Payable: Process and record vendor invoices, issue payments, and track outstanding payables, utilizing QuickBooks Online’s accounts payable functions.

Accounts Receivable: Generate and send customer invoices, track customer payments, and follow up on overdue accounts, using QuickBooks Online for efficient management.

Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and summaries for management and external stakeholders, utilizing QuickBooks Online reporting tools.

Payroll Processing: Calculate and process employee payroll, including tax deductions, and ensure compliance with payroll regulations, preferably using QuickBooks Online Payroll services.

Tax Compliance: Prepare and maintain records for tax returns and assist in tax compliance, using QuickBooks Online’s tax-related features.

Financial Analysis: Provide financial data and reports to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, with proficiency in QuickBooks Online’s reporting and analysis tools.

Documentation: Maintain organized financial records, receipts, and supporting documentation for audits and financial reviews, emphasizing QuickBooks Online document management.

Software Proficiency: Highly proficient in QuickBooks Online and related accounting software for efficient financial data management.

Compliance: Stay up-to-date with accounting principles, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting, with a focus on QuickBooks Online compliance features.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in accounting or a related field is a plus.
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
Note: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is a critical requirement for this role, as it is commonly used for small and medium-sized businesses to manage their financial records and transactions.
