POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeping Cleanup Specialist with proven accounting, bookkeeping and tax experience, to fulfill cleanup jobs for all incoming clients. This position’s primary focus is to help with incoming large projects that require cleanup, usually involving multiple years’ worth of transactions from various bank and credit card accounts, before we can transition them to “maintenance mode” bookkeeping. We are looking for a self-motivated, detailed oriented, accounting professional who possesses a strong and proven background in bookkeeping and QuickBooks Online. This position will report directly to the Head of Bookkeeping Education.

OBJECTIVES
-Using your in-depth bookkeeping knowledge, manage new client cleanup jobs with high attention to detail and with the ability to quickly assess exactly what is needed to process all client work for our service agreement.
-Gather documents in preparation for either cleanup or monthly clients and handle complex problems in a timely manner.
-Determine potential complications in financial statements errors, sales tax issues, unsolved A/P and A/R, payroll issues, and 3rd party integrations questions.
-Assist clients in either establishing or updating their chart of accounts.
-Utilize strong organizational skills to ensure client follow up and communication is executed timely.
-This is a virtual position, which could be primarily client-facing or more transactional bookkeeping task focused. These roles can crossover at times requiring flexibility and comfort in both dynamics.
-Manage and respond to all email, slack, and phone communication from team members and/or clients within 24 hours
-Report all pressing concerns to our Head of Bookkeeping for in-depth review
-Monitor all assigned activities and ensure they are completed according to the agreed-upon plan and specifications
-Prepare for and participate in a biweekly 1 on 1 meeting with the Head of Bookkeeping
-Attend all monthly and weekly Mentor and Leadership meetings to share headway, concerns, and details regarding processes and procedures
-Maintain task list and send daily report of tasks accomplished
-Accurately report to supervisor hours worked
-Maintain professional relationships with owner, operations, and other team members
-Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

COMPETENCIES
-Demonstrates strong Tax and Accounting knowledge
-Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Desktop Versions, Stripe, Square, PayPal and other accounting and third party software, MS Office Suite, Adobe, Windows, DocuSign, Google Suite
-Demonstrates outstanding organization and administrative skills
-Well-organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
-Demonstrates a proactive approach to problem-solving, and process improvement
-Proven experience successfully maintaining a positive attitude while working in a team environment with competing priorities
-Ability to thrive in an environment of change and growth
-Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
-High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required, with equivalent experience
-Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
-5+ years of experience in a tax or bookkeeping firm using Quickbooks Online
-CPA license is preferred
-Must have bookkeeping cleanup experience
-Must have experience working as a bookkeeper for multiple clients simultaneously
