Bookkeeping for Lawn Care, Landscaping, & Snow Companies

Hey! Thanks for checking this out. We are a small, husband and wife owned consulting firm looking for a genuine person to grow with us. Our company focuses on the ‘green’ industry by working with companies who do lawn care, landscaping, and snow removal. While we serve our clients in a few capacities, you would be working in the books of these companies to bridge the gap between what happens on a daily basis and their accountant.
We only take on bookkeeping clients who utilize QuickBooks Online so knowledge of that system is key and certification a plus.
Primarily, clients are asked to upload receipts and the receipts are used as the entry point to bring information into the books. The bank feed is ideally used only as a check and balance. That point is made here to emphasize that we very much want the details in the books and to not make assumptions and generalizations. The goal is for out clients to truly know where their business’ money is being spent.
Routine tasks include expense/bill entry, bank feed clearing, reconciling bank, credit card, and loan accounts, and so on.
An understanding of not just the mechanics of working in the books, but the reasoning behind the entries is essential.
When you’re working in the books, you see a LOT and can really be in tune with the happenings in a business. We very much want to you to know each of our clients and be able to recognize when things don’t make sense or seem out of place.
As a firm, we practice and teach Profit First as do many of our clients.
There are industry specific software systems that are often used by clients with opportunity to work within those as well, not required.
