Job Description

I am seeking a developer to complete this beta. The game development is currently in progress. There is code on PlayCanvas, Google Cloud, and Firebase. The first week of work would entail workshopping/brainstorming the vision, understanding what has been written, and (probably) deleting much unnecessary code.

I am not certain of all languages the developer must require, but I know that the Play Canvas engine runs on HTML5.

With this being a rather simple game, I prefer the developer I hire to be comfortable performing QA testing.

Bonus if you have basic skills in UI design and can create new buttons, etc., as needed.

Please read the description below and check out the two links I provided.

If you are interested, send me a message telling me about yourself. Also, tell me your thoughts on the current concept and what could make it even easier/better!

Holepunchr Game Beta VERSION 1—BETA

Holepunchr is intended to be a simple, solo/multiplayer, idle, web browser, clicker game. The game board is a square image. Every pixel on that image is clickable. Upon clicking a pixel, several actions could take place: (1) the pixel disappears/turns black, (2) the player clicks a prize pixel, and a generic prize pop-up notification appears, and (3) an in-game powerup is found.

The idea is that anyone can start a game for their followers. Players have an equal chance of winning. It is not skill-based. Whatever the prize is/delivery of the prize (if any) to the winner is done outside of Holepunchr and handled completely by the creator.

The game can also be a simple, idle game meant to have fun/kill time. People can play/click pixels while they multitask. This would be the premise of a solo “blackout” game type.

Starting the Game

Anybody should be able to “Create a New Game” or “Join a Private Game.”

Launching a New Game prompts the user with a Notification panel.

Notification Panel (fixed/whatever we set it to be on the backend):

# of PowerUps A hidden 1 – ??? (as many as possible)
# of Prize pixels hidden 1 – ???
# of players allowed 1 – ???
Game ending conditions
Game restraints

Gameplay

Currently, players must connect using a MetaMask wallet. It made sense at the time, but it might not anymore. The original concept was to transfer NFTs or crypto prizes to the winning wallet automatically. This is not the ideal method anymore. I want users to create a username.

After the options are selected, the creator commences the game. Solo can begin immediately. “New Game” creates a lobby, provides the creator with a unique lobby code, and begins in 2 minutes.

The game board appears; the players click pixels. The game ends when all Prizes are found.

Scoring

There needs to be an individual scoring chart for the game played. Everyone in the game/creator of the game can view it:

Scoring Chart:

User’s unique identifier
Total # of clicks
Total # of Powerups found
Total # of Prizes (and which one(s)) found
Total time played.

It is preferable that the information is stored for a future leadership board on the website homepage.

Game Restraints and Conditions

There will need to be conditions set within the code.

Time required between clicks: ½ second
Game Lobbies close under specific conditions: idle time, no players, etc.
Control over the Options Panel.
A bunch more, I’m sure.

Mobile Version of website/game (if possible)

If users choose to log in and play on a phone, it will probably be difficult to zoom in/move around the board. Clicking specific pixels would also be a challenge. There needs to be a button that users can repeatedly click that will randomly clear pixels (if possible).

In the end, I would like a website and framework that somewhat resembles the following:
