Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Business and Finance Analyst with a deep understanding of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial aspects, compliance, and business operations within our trucking company.
Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support data-driven decision-making. Analyze revenue, expenses, and operational costs to identify opportunities for improvement.
Compliance Expertise: Maintain a strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, ensuring our company’s compliance with all safety and operational requirements. Oversee the preparation of necessary reports, filings, and documentation.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks. Implement strategies to minimize liabilities, optimize insurance coverage, and improve safety measures.
Business Strategy: Collaborate with the management team to develop and execute strategic plans to drive growth and profitability. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data and industry trends.
Cost Control: Monitor and control expenses, review contracts, and negotiate favorable terms with vendors. Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety or quality.
Data Analysis: Collect and analyze financial data to provide insights into the performance of the company. Create and maintain financial models and reports to track key performance indicators.
Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Present findings to the management team.
Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to secure favorable terms and services.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant designation is a plus.
Proven experience in finance, business analysis, or a related role within the trucking or logistics industry.
In-depth knowledge of FMCSA regulations and compliance requirements.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
