About the Role
This is a permanent work-from-home position at a fast-growing e-commerce company. We are looking for a Business Development Specialist with strong communications skills to help the company boost the growth and sales through conducting market research, developing business strategies, building client relationships, i.e., vendors and suppliers, and exploring new business opportunities. As experts in the company’s vision and its mission, you will strive to attract new clients, accomplish set goals and objectives by cultivating strong relationships with new vendors while maintaining existing client relationships.
You will work closely with other relevant teams across all departments to implement agreed-upon growth strategies. You will develop and implement sales strategies, vendor service and retention plans, and analyze sales data to inform or update the company’s business strategies. You will draft business plans, sales pitches, presentations, reference material, and other outreach documents if needed and identify new business opportunities through your research. This position will work closely with the Business Development (BD) Team, as well as other internal teams to achieve overall success. This role will report directly to the BD Director.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
– Assist in selecting high potential vendors/suppliers to reach out to.
– Schedule a call with a select vendor/supplier to discuss opportunities to grow our business with their products.
– Discuss with potential vendors/suppliers the process to obtain discounts, vendor dropship, and depending on the outcome of the conversation, coordinate with our data team for them to prepare the Targeted Purchase Order (TPO).
– Submit the TPO to the vendor/supplier until the price is agreed upon.
– Once price is agreed upon, relay the information to the BD Team and Business Analysts for them to prepare the final Purchase Orders (POs) and assign these to our Vendor Account Manager from the Purchasing Team to facilitate regular PO processing.
– Helps to maintain existing vendor/supplier data flow, interface among teams to create new approaches as needed.
– Establish and maintain close working relationships with relevant teams, i.e., Purchasing team, Data team, and all key Accounting and Finance personnel.
– Establish and maintain clear, business communication with new and existing vendors/suppliers.
– Other ad hoc tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Experience and Qualities we look for:
– Able to demonstrate with 4 to 5 years experience in Business Development and Sales, preferably.
– Able to demonstrate with 4 to 5 years experience as Business Development Representative, or Business Development Executive.
– Able to demonstrate with 4 to 5 years experience in e-commerce retail, manufacturing, FMCG, and other related industries.
– Proven ability to work on multiple projects and growth initiatives.
– Experience in conceptualizing and executing business development plans.
– Proven ability to build strong relationships at all levels throughout an organization in a collaborative and multicultural environment.
– Team player, organized and responsive in a timely manner.
– Experience as a strategic thinker and the ability to effectively translate strategies into business opportunities.
– A self-directed individual able to adapt quickly to changes in priorities and business conditions.
– Experience and comfort working in a fast-paced business environment with ability to consistently meet company goals.
– Superior analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to develop and communicate complex business strategies.

– Has a conducive work-from-home setup and a stable internet connection for team and client meetings.
Desired Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or any related field.

– Familiarity with Slack, Asana, Hubstaff, and Google Suites
