Job Description

I’m a consultant that helps companies develop and document high-level business processes and procedures so that they have a clear documented process and can more easily achieve the ISO certifications I’m helping them prepare for (typically quality (ISO 9001), safety (ISO 45001), environmental (ISO 14001) and/or information systems (ISO 27001) management system standards are what I work with).

Currently, I develop all of the documentation and process flows myself but I’m looking for someone to help develop this documentation based on notes I’ve taken during my time consulting with the client. Most of the documentation work is developed in one key/core document which becomes the company’s business manual/management system document and that’s mainly what I’d like your help with initially.

As the companies that I work with differ in industry and operations from one to another, the documentation work required can vary.

There is the potential for ongoing work across multiple projects if it’s a fit for both of us. Of course, the confidentiality of client information is very important.

If this develops into an ongoing working relationship, tasks and responsibilities may include:
– Document writing – expanding on notes I’ve taken and developing procedural documentation, reviewing and updating documentation, creating action lists etc. Typically work in Microsoft Office Suite – MS Word.
– Process flow charts – development and updating based on examples and notes. Typically use Lucid Chart but open to your preferred tool
– Modification and updating of template documents/spreadsheets based on examples

Just to highlight/reinforce some things that are really important to me and for the work to be completed:
– English – native. Excellent understanding of the English language
– Ability to learn quickly, work independently, grasp business concepts and processes to produce quality work
– Writing skills – write concise, clear and valuable content with proper spelling and grammar
– Confidentiality – you won’t be able to showcase the work you complete for me and the information is strictly confidential
– Organizational skills and timeliness – work to project schedules, ability to complete the work quite quickly so I can review/revise and then meet with the client to review/revise with them.

I can share an example document with candidates that seem like a fit, however, the complexity of documentation will vary.
